This coffee is produced by award-winning and prolific coffee producer, Ricardo Zelaya. Caffe Fantatico is proud to have offered coffee from Ricardo since 2009. Carrizal is located in an extremely remote region in Eastern Guatemala, close to the Honduran border. The name refers to the Carrizo trees that grow in the area. Of the many varieties grown on the farm, this current lot consists of Bourbon 300 and Villa Sarchi Arabica varieties.
Ricardo’s family has grown coffee here for four generations. An active member of the local coffee growing communities, his most recent investment has been to build a kids summer camp, and to fund a scholarship for the farm workers’ children to go to the local school.
