Toffee, butter pastry, bright citrus and berry flavours. Rich and lively with a lingering finish.
This microlot comes from the Masangula Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society. (AMCOS). It is located in the south of the country centered around the city of Mbeya, close to the Zambian and Malawi borders.
The democratically run Masangula AMCOS was established in 2018 and consists of 128 farmers from several rural neighbouring villages surrounding Mbeya. During harvest, the farmers deliver their cherry to the local Sombezi mill in the afternoon, where it is depulped, the parchment is fermented for 24–36 hours, then washed clean before being soaked for 8–12 hours. It is then moved moved to drying tables to dry for 7–14 days.
We are excited to offer this fine coffee from this newly established cooperative, and look forward to it's continued development and success.
